Preparing for In-Person School

The classroom is ready for the June 1st return to in-person school. The return to in-person school is optional and remote learning will continue with the weekly Zoom meeting on Wednesdays at 11 AM. One on one help will continue to be available as well.

Below are some photos of the classroom. You will notice:

  • There are only eleven spaces for students to work at
  • The tables are spaced apart with ample room between chairs
  • Students are facing away from each other when working at a table or desk and are facing a wall or a barrier
  • There is soap, water, and paper towels for hand washing every time you enter the room

The school is being set up now as well. There are directional signs in the hallways and stairs. Students will enter and exit from three doors (one per grade level) to reduce congestion. The hallways will have fewer students. Lockers are off limits.

The room has more space between furniture to help support physical distancing.
There is ample space between tables. Students do not face each other and face either the wall or a barrier.
Students will sit at the round table when meeting with Mr. Kertes. That puts more than 2 metres spacing between people.
Everyone is expected to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when they enter the room. There is also hand sanitizer for students when they enter the school.
